When our ancestors immigrated to New Mexico, there were no
cars or trains available. To make a journey and start a new life,
animals were essential. Domestic animals brought them to New
Mexico and fed them when they got here.Without horses or oxen
to pull their wagons or chickens to eat, the journey would have
been all but impossible.
